...for July 4th. Happy Birthday, America!
The following Sunday, we will read the last (but really LONG) scene of Love's Labor's Lost. Then after the post-play closeout chat, we'll start
TROILIUS AND CRESSIDA
I first read this in 7th grade, and haven't read it since. Mr. Etkin, my English teacher, told me that as an outspoken young lady I would relate to the seer Cassandra, who as an outspoken woman tells the truth but no one listens. I'd read Shakespeare before but this was a bit dense for me at the time. I'm looking forward to giving it another go, especially since it was a request from our own Cassandra, and it holds a special place in her heart.
I'm just about to update the What We're Reading Page, which will have more information about what I am affectionately referring to as "Troy & Cress". Because irreverent is just how I roll.
See you a week from Sunday!!!
