VOLUNTEERING & INTERNSHIPS

Austin Shakespeare provides a welcoming atmosphere for opportunities to expand your administrative and production skills

Join the Austin Shakespeare family and learn skills from production to arts administration (systems/bookkeeping/development) to stage management. Working side by side with professional, friendly, and exuberant arts professionals, you'll find  an internship with Austin Shakespeare to be an enjoyable and valuable experience while building contacts in the Austin area and adding real-world experience to your resume.

Available OPPORTunities

  • May: Free Shakespeare in the Park Production.

  • June: Education internships with students for Young Shakespeare for teens on a production that rehearses in the evening and performs on weekends.

  • Year-round production internships in light, sound, set, costume, or props. You can also apply to be an assistant to the stage director!

  • Year-round: Become involved for part or all of the rehearsal and performance process.

We produce at The Long Center for the Performing Arts, Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theatre, The Curtain Theatre (a unique replica of an Elizabethan theater on Lake Austin), University of Texas Bates Recital Hall, Ballet Austin Austin Ventures Theatre, Parker Jazz Club and many other various venues.

  • Internships are unpaid, but check with your college to see if they might be eligible for college credit.

  • Out of town interns are welcome but Austin Shakespeare is unable to provide housing or pay at this time.
